Wow, I’m got so much to be thankful for!
Two nights ago I worked at Sonic and about 7:45 (PM) we got a call that let us know that sable ridge (another Sonic) had just been robbed. So our manager told us to lock everything up, and use only our secondary door. Sable ridge ha gotten a description on the robber–a black woman with a camouflage ski mast. So we were ready for here, we were all talking about what we’d do, and me and Lance pretty much decided that she was going to be in so much pain she’d wish she was never born. But we waited and waited. Nothing happened, and we were extremely slow so I just went home about 9:45 (early because I was supposed to be there until 10:30). So went home got some good sleep in. The next day (Wednesday) I did school all day, and went to church in the evening. I’m really exited about what were going over in youth group, but I’ll get to that later. Any when we were giving prayer requests Julie, who also works at Sonic, mentioned that Sable ridge had been robbed, and also that Abilene (our store) had been attempted to be robbed. Turned out that about 15 minutes after I left, as Oscar (a co-worker) was locking the door behind him, this black woman with a camouflage mask was walking up with a sawed-off shotgun. So when I heard that mixed emotions came. I really wanted to be there, because I wanted to beat the living crap out of that woman, but I also think about the fact that I might have tried to do just that, and gotten mine and a couple other people’s guts blown out. So really God, as always, couldn’t have worked it out better. Thank You God!!!
Also in the Wednesday night stuff, Pastor Andrew has started teaching us Biblical principles for making choices in the “grey areas”, like music, alcohol, dances, and the like. Anyway we spent like ten minutes trying to think up a good example, that was distant from us all, to apply these principles to and we finally settled on the Prom (actually the Nat’l Homeschool Prom, where all the cool kids go:) We only got through the principles, not any other part of the lesson, because we were all very hyper. They are as follows:
1.Principle of Exaltation – Will this Glorify God?
2. Principles of Emulation – Will this allow me to be more like Christ?
3.Principle of Authority – Will I be obeying my authorities by doing this?
4.Principle of Holiness – Can I be morally pure and do this?
5. Principle of Edification – Can others grow because of this?
6. Principle of Expediency – Is this best for my spiritual walk?
Well, that’s all I have time for right now, I’ve got to school. Well, I’ll ttyl.
